Since taking charge as Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) Mr Sanjeev Jaiswal has led with clarity, purpose and a service mindset that is reshaping the housing landscape across Maharashtra. His tenure reflects strategic thinking strong execution and a deep commitment to citizen welfare.

Mr Sanjeev Jaiswal is a seasoned Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1996 batch with extensive experience in urban governance public service and crisis management before assuming leadership at MHADA. His varied administrative roles have given him a nuanced understanding of city systems community needs and the foundations necessary for impactful public housing policy.

 

From the outset his focus has been on strengthening institutional capacity improving delivery timelines and making MHADA more citizen friendly responsive and accountable.

Early in his tenure Mr Jaiswal introduced a structured 100-day action review framework to sharpen focus on core priorities including project implementation and service delivery outcomes. This initiative reinforced a results-driven culture across MHADA’s regional boards and offices.

 

Under his leadership MHADA has also moved to make vast quantities of official documents publicly accessible online. On this initiative he has been quoted as saying that “Our goal is to simplify interactions and make information easily available to all citizens.” This ensures transparency enhances trust and reduces dependency on formal information requests.

 

A landmark policy decision championed by him mandates that maintenance charges and property taxes on scattered housing units and plots will apply only from the date of possession giving beneficiaries important financial relief during their transition period.
